Operators

Adding Operators

Operators are defined as a person who has been given permissions to view or edit modules within the application.  Operators differ from card holder, a card holder is someone who has been given access to portals within the building where as operators can make modifications to the Access Control Security application.

Note:  By default up to 50 operators can be added to the IS2000 system.

  • To access the Operators menu, click on Settings, Operators.
  • Click the Add Operators button to add a new operator.
  • Click on the plus sign to the left of the New Operator entry.
  • Name – Enter the user name, this is the account name that will be used to sign into the application.
  • Profile – Enter the profile created for the operator.  The user profile defines what areas of the application the operator has access to as well as what permissions the operator will have.  To add a profile to the operator record, click on the drop down arrow to the right of the Profile tag and select the profile.  The profile should be predefined prior to creating the operator.
  • Password – Enter the password for the operator account.  This password will be used while the operator is signing into the application.  Each individual that will use the Access Control Security application should have a unique account and password for auditing purposes.
  • Authentication – Choose the desired Authentication type.  Either Windows Authentication or IS2000 Authentication can be utilized.  If IS2000 Authentication is chosen, the system will utilize the user names and passwords assigned within the application.  If Windows Authentication is chosen, the user will utilize their Windows credentials to sign into the Access Control Security application.  To choose the Authentication type, click on the drop down arrow to the right of the Authentication tag.
  • Personnel Link – From Access, Personnel Manager, Advanced Access, the personnel record can be linked to an operator record.  To link an operator to a personnel record, the operator must be created first.  Once the operator has been created, select the operator from Access, Personnel Manager, Advanced Access, Operators.  Once this link has been created, the Personnel Link in Operators will reflect the personnel record.
  • Click the green check mark to save changes.
