Retired LVMPD Captain

Josh Bitsko is a retired Captain with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and a 24-year law enforcement veteran with firsthand experience responding to and leading some of the nation’s most critical incidents. He served in a wide range of roles, including K9 handler, detective sergeant, internal affairs lieutenant, and commander of the Las Vegas resort corridor and the department’s health, wellness, and safety bureau. Josh was part of the tactical response to the 1 October Massacre and later served as incident commander during multiple mass casualty events, giving him a rare perspective on both frontline response and command-level decision-making. Today, he speaks nationally on critical incident preparedness, leadership under pressure, and resilience, offering practical insight shaped by real-world experience.
