Lucas Oil Stadium—home of the Indianapolis Colts—and the Indiana Convention Center host everything from professional football to conventions, trade shows, and large public events.

Managing physical access across two expansive, high-traffic venues requires more than reliable door hardware. The security team also needs a management platform that can scale, simplify administration, and adapt as technology changes.

UnityIS® has served that role for more than a decade, giving the venues a path to modernize without discarding access-control equipment that was still providing value.

The UnityIS® Solution

Integrate the VertX System. Expand With Mercury.

UnityIS® integrated with the existing HID VertX V100 and V200 panels, allowing Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indiana Convention Center to preserve their earlier hardware investment.

As the system expanded, Mercury access controllers could be added alongside the existing VertX hardware. Operators did not have to manage these controller families as separate islands because UnityIS® provided a centralized management layer above them.

The result was a more scalable architecture with a common interface for monitoring and controlling access across both venues.

OPEN ARCHITECTURE

Old and New Hardware Working Together.

The project demonstrates one of the practical advantages of open architecture: existing equipment can remain in service while newer technologies are introduced gradually, allowing modernization to follow operational and budget priorities instead of forcing a full replacement.

Implementation

252 Doors Across Stadium and Convention Center Operations.

The UnityIS® deployment covered a combined 252 doors across Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indiana Convention Center.

The system used both proximity and PIN reader technologies, supporting different access-control requirements across the two facilities.

IMRON worked with venue personnel during the transition and provided training and support to help optimize system performance without disrupting established security operations.
